How do you get to Costa Rica
Here are the two major airports:
Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO) is located about 10 miles west of the capital in the central part of the country. Most major carriers fly into this airport and several cities like Miami, Orlando, Dallas, Houston, Baltimore, New York City and Los Angeles have direct flights. Europe also has several carriers with direct flights to SJO. This would be the ideal airport to fly into when traveling to Los Suenos, Manuel Antonio or the Caribbean coast. The cities of La Fortuna and Monteverde can also be accessed using this airport as well.
Daniel Oduber Quiros International Airport (LIR) is located in the Northwest part of the country in the Guanacaste Province. This is the smaller of the two major airports in Costa Rica, but most major carriers have access. This would be the ideal airport to fly into when traveling to Guanacaste, Papagayo and Arenal. The cities of Nosara, Monteverde, Tamarindo and El Jobo can also be easily accessed using this airport as well.
Costa Rica also offers local transfers to smaller airports throughout the country.
