When Costa Rica opens up it's borders here are 6 reasons to book with me right now for your next family vacation.

1)  Adventure travelers

Explore unpaved roads, rustic towns, water crossings and cattle ranches on an ATV tour -or- perhaps you want to opt for the adventure of a lifetime, descending from the top of a mountain, with a zipline canopy tour!  Most of the bigger cities in Costa Rica will offer some sort of ATV tour, it just depends on where you are vacationing.  Because of the variety of beaches in Costa Rica, black and white sand,  exploring with an ATV can be a great way to see them in a short period of time.  Make sure to stop by one of the local carts along the beach for a pipa fria or a Costa Rican Churchill.   It's also a great way to see one of the many volcanoes or tropical rain forests.

Want to ditch the terrain and head for the water?  Take your pick between kayaking, tubing or whitewater rafting through spectacular scenery with expert guides through the middle of the jungle in Class II/III rapids.  One of my favorite places for water activities is Arenal.  Both tubing and whitewater rafting are a great family activity filled with relaxation and exhilaration while meandering through natural landscapes filled with birds and monkeys.

2) Surf like a Pro

Always wanted to learn to how to surf? Here is your chance!

Jaco, Herradura and Hermosa provide some of the best waves in Costa Rica.  Whether it is your first-time setting foot on a surfboard, or you’re looking to fine tune your surf skills, we have some of the best teachers in the world who specialize in teaching beginners to advanced students, from children to older adults. Our expert instructors will have you standing up on a surfboard by the end of your first lesson, without a doubt.  Tamarindo is also a favorite spot to catch some waves and this crew is one of my favorites to help you catch that perfect wave.

3) Immerse Yourself in Nature

Home to 900 different bird species, 250 species of mammals, 112 volcanoes, 2 oceans and has been named one of the happiest countries in the world.

The Rainmaker River Walk and Canopy Bridge Tour is a great place to surround yourself with the incredible flora and fauna of Costa Rica.  Footpaths along with observation platforms allow you to observe waterfalls and capture photos of the rich biodiversity this unique site has to offer.

If swimming in an enchanting waterfall is on your to-do list, we recommend a visit to “Cataratas Gemelas”.   Sit and relax on the river’s edge and take in the spectacular views or jump into the cool water ponds & swimming holes found throughout the hike.

4) Travel to Tortuga Island

Take a catamaran from a local marina and set sail for Tortuga Island, famous for its Caribbean-like white sand beach and transparent turquoise water.  Most tours include light breakfast on board, unlimited rum punch and piña colada, lunch and three activities: banana boat ride, eco-trail hike and snorkeling.

5) Visit a National Park

Manuel Antonio National Park, Costa Rica’s smallest national park is just a car ride away.  Hike the trails, observe the diverse wildlife, and then take a dip in the crystal-clear water or relax on the white sand beach.

Carara National Park, named after the Heutar word for crocodile and home to one of the largest populations of Scarlet Macaws in Costa Rica, is a short 15-minute drive from Los Sueños. This national park is home to several ecosystems and a favorite destination for bird watchers due to its immense amount of primary rain forest.

Both parks offer great opportunities to view, first hand, all the biodiversity that Costa Rica has to offer!

6) World Class Fishing

Want to make your trip EPIC?  Why not try your Costa Rica Vacation with fishing.  Whether it’s a half day for inshore fishing or full day for inshore and offshore fishing, you won’t be disappointed as each trip comes with a bilingual captain and crew, bait, tackle, snacks, lunch, drinks and plenty of exciting opportunities for a great catch.  When I'm in Quepos visiting Marina Pez Vela,  I really like using Jackpot Sportfishing and Caribsea Sportfishing for both inshore and offshore fishing.  Both these crews are world class with a ton of local knowledge and experience to make your trip even more amazing!  When the day is done, take you catch to a local restaurant where the chef will create a delicious meal for you.  That's me with a 85lb roosterfish caught in the Northwest part of the Guancaste Providence out of Dreams Las Mareas.
