My top 5 Destination Wedding Picks

Dreaming of a destination wedding? Well, you’re not alone and I’m here to share with you the top 5 countries where you can have the destination wedding you’ve been dreaming of.

If you’re a couple that loves adventure, then my number 5 pick Costa Rica is right up your alley. When deciding on Costa Rica what you and your fiancée must consider is what backdrop do you want? Do you want a rainforest, cloud forest, volcano springs vibe or one of the many beaches? If you’re thinking about a beach wedding in Costa Rica you need to consider if you want a white sand, volcanic sand, all seashells, surfer, or beach cove with little to no waves.  Whatever you choose in Costa Rica the beauty of the country and the outdoor elements will keep your guests talking about your wedding for years to come.

Insider tip: with Costa Rica consider two experiences, for example, get married on the beach and then go honeymoon in the cloud forest. Ask your travel advisor for customized options.

My number 4 pick is beautiful Puerto Rico. Since Puerto Rico is a commonwealth of the United States your guest will not have to worry about international travel, but you will get the island vibe you’re looking for.  With Puerto Rico you can choose to have a beach wedding, a beautiful historic church or one of the gorgeous resorts on the island.

Insider tip: the pina colada hails from Puerto Rico, so make sure this fruity rum cocktail is on your welcome list for your guest.

Aruba with white sandy beaches is known as “One Happy Island” which makes it my pick for number 3. Aruba to me is a secret gem that many do not know of or consider, but once you fly over Aruba and step off the plane you will fall in love. If you want to get married here, I say beach, beach and beach. It has beautiful weather year round, the cuisine is top notch and all of the locals are “happy”. Aruba is an island that you will revisit again and again.

Insider tip: Don’t leave Aruba without feeding the flamingos.

Considered a wedding and honeymoon hot spot my number 2 pick is Hawaii. Oahu, Maui, the big Island, Kauai, Molokai, Lanai, Niihau and Kahoolawe your hardest choice is which of these breathtaking islands do you want to get married on. When considering Hawaii spend some time with your travel advisor helping you plan your wedding to discuss how many guests will attend and what cities they will be flying out of. This type of information will allow your travel advisor to give you options to consider. Once you are settled on the island the rest of the details will fall into place aloha style.

Insider tip: consider getting married on one island and honeymoon on another.

You will not be disappointed with my number 1 – The Bahamas. Secret sandbars, secluded pink sand beaches and known for miles of crystal clear blue water the Bahamas exudes romance.  The Bahamas is a chain of islands and has 16 major islands. You will need to work with your travel advisor on direct flights from many major airports.

Beaches, snorkeling, fishing, and the freshest seafood you will ever have the Bahamas will not disappoint those that want to relax on the beach, under a palm tree or in the water.

Insider tip: the months of April and May are the most popular months to have a destination wedding in the Bahamas.
